ABS Sensors

ABS sensors belong to the group of wheel speed sensors. The rotational speed values gathered from the sensors are communicated among other things to the ABS system, which continuously evaluates the data. Additionally, driver assistance systems such as ASR, ESP, or ACC use the signals of the wheel speed sensors to determine wheel speed.

Wheel speed sensors are amongst the most important sensors in an automobile and provide a direct contribution to driver safety, ride comfort, and gas mileage.

The manufacturing of our wheel speed sensors takes place in strict accordance with OE specifications at our german production facilities.

The measurement of rotational speed occurs by means of either an inductive or an active sensor.

In the current standard ABS system, a 4-channel ABS is employed. On each of the four wheels of an automobile there is an ABS sensor which measures the rotational speed of the respective wheel. This rotational speed information is transmitted to an electronic control unit which evaluates it.
